Mailing Your Package

This page describes best practices to send your bolt-on guitar neck by mail. Please read carefully and follow these recommendations.

The best way to send your guitar neck by mail is inside of a 6" x 30" heavy duty mailing tube. The guitar neck should be wrapped either in crumpled paper, or Honeycomb packing paper*, or standard bubble wrap*.

Your package should include a pre-paid return mailing label, inside the box.

It is your decision and responsibility if you wish to pay for additional insurance in either direction.

the 6" x 30" mailing tube

We recommend a 6" x 30" mailing tube, at least .125" thick, with two plastic caps.

Both caps MUST BE secured with packing tape, before shipping, to make sure they don't fall off. Please DO NOT ship your guitar neck inside of a tube, without securing the end caps with packing tape.

Here are some 6x30 tubes, to consider:

the USPS tube box

The USPS Small Tube Box is a free option. While it is free, it is slightly smaller than the 6" x 30" round tube and also less robust, and a standard guitar neck barely fits inside. But it is free.

This is not the highly recommended option, but it is an option, nevertheless, if you decide you want to save a few dollars on packing materials.

This is solely your decision, not a recommendation.

If you chose the USPS small tube box, you will only be able to use USPS as the carrier.

While the 6×30 round mailing tube is likely the most secure shipping option, it can be somewhat costly. A good alternative is a 6×6×30 corrugated cardboard box.

The challenge is that these boxes are typically sold in packs of 25 or more. We are currently working on a solution to make them available directly from us, as a mail-in kit, but this option is not yet available.

This method may not be quite as secure as a round tube, but it may be the most practical choice for some customers. Ultimately, the decision of which option to use is up to you.

However, please note that if we receive your guitar neck inside of a package that was not adequate, we will always send the neck back to you inside of a proper package, in which case all packing materials will be have to be added to the bill.
